Are you seeking a greater work/life balance in 2022? If you enjoy being creative in the kitchen and running your own operation then we have a change from the usual Hospitality grind! If you enjoy catering and working with children, then I have an opportunity for you! We are looking for experienced Permanent Part-Time Cooks/Chefs to join multiple teams at multiple services across the Adelaide region. A Chef or Cook who is able to produce very high quality and nutritious meals and snacks for children each day. 

About Us

Our children enjoy delightful indoor and outdoor play areas, rooms equipped with all the latest age-appropriate technology and learning resources. Our centres care for children from 6 weeks through to 6 years with operating hours from 6.30am to 6.30pm. Our menus meet nutritional guidelines that have been set out by the Early Childhood sector and allow young bodies to thrive both mentally and physically. As part of the Team, you will feel appreciated, valued and enjoy a truly supportive and fun working environment. 

About You

Our children’s early years are arguably their most important and establishing healthy behaviours from birth will lay the foundation for lifelong health and wellbeing. As more children are spending time in care, early childhood settings often play a vital part in supporting the teaching of healthy choices about nutrition and physical activity. With experience and passion for preparing a varied range of healthy and nutritious meals for children, you will be able to walk in and be ready to take on the challenge of cooking for a service for children aged 6 weeks to 6 years. You will also share our commitment to bringing learning to life, inspiring the children in our care to reach their full potential.

  • Experienced in Menu planning, budgeting, stock ordering & control
  • Experienced in dietary and allergy safe requirements. 
  • Experienced in ensuring a clean and safe kitchen environment in accordance with the relevant Food Safety regulations
  • Be a Team Player with great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be available for set shift days and times Monday to Friday

Successful Applicants must hold

  • A Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or an ACECQA approved Early Childhood qualification and experience in a cook role
  • A current Working with Children’s Check
  • National Police Clearance
  • First Aid and Asthma and Anaphylaxis Certificate
  • FOOD Alert
  • Completed or willing to complete Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
